Value engineering is a methodology to arrive at maximizing the performance and minimizing the cost of particular construction options. ATBC recognizes the importance of value engineering and readily incorporates it into the design phase or tender phase if possible to establish cost‐saving alternatives while maintaining equivalent high‐quality results. The value engineering team is comprised of professionals from various disciplines of the group who provide inputs in the redesigning of Structural, Electrical, Mechanical, Aluminium and Interiors Works. ATBC will review proposals and construction cost estimates for appropriateness, evaluate Line item costs and associated methodology, and determine if the process or approach to a particular portion of work is both practical and cost effective.

The project management team provides the entire range of services such as initial project planning(tasks, resources, schedule), task oversight, tracking, reporting and change management.Construction and target programs are prepared using Primavera or MS Project and eachprogram contains a well‐defined critical path, starting and finishing milestones, man powerplanning for each activity, equipment planning for each activity, S‐Curves, material schedules anddelivery schedules for long lead items.
To ensure successful completion of projects within budget, MIS reports are generated on a continuousbasis and crash programs are created in the case of delays due to constraints or unforeseencircumstances. MIS meetings conducted per week result in proactive decisions being made at everystep in order to cope with unexpected challenges and immediate actions are taken on concerning issues.

Costs are controlled through planning, tender, accounts and the MIS. Departments through reportingprocedures for budget compliance. Detailed monthly profit & loss statements and labor rate analysisreports are generated to ensure that costs are within budget, which leads to enhanced financialcontrol of the project. This also serves as an end benefit for the clients since ATBC’s control on costsleads to competitive pricing of projects. Construction schedule is consistently monitored andupdated to ensure compliance and to seek ways to save additional project time. Likewise, thedesign is monitored to prevent construction delays due to sequencing of operations orequipment/material availability under prevailing market conditions. ATBC has, as a result, beenable to deliver projects before the due project deadlines. Quality is monitored continuously bymeans of independent testing / inspection reports, as well as through regular inspection andreporting by the QA I QC and coordination departments thus leading to a maintenance free project.Safety takes precedence over all construction activities on site. Finance andaccounting activities are centralized at the corporate office which provides complete control overevery project activity. The activities are closely monitored to ensure a strong liquidity position. TheGroup also has its own debt recovery department which takes care of any outstanding paymentsand thus helps improve cash flow of its companies.
Complete project feasibility reports as well as fund management reports for each of the projects areprepared in advance of the actual execution of any project. With these reports, the viability of theproject is analyzed and corrective actions are taken for smooth running of projects. Bank facilities arearranged well in advance of the actual starting of any project which allows for uninterruptedexecution of projects without any delays. The resources committed to the projects are notallocated to other projects at any time during the project execution.
In order to have better control over the financial status of the projects, budgets are prepared forevery project and reviewed with the actual figures on a monthly basis. Project‐wise costing as well asprofit & loss statements are thus prepared and compared with the budgeted figures every month and ifthere are any deviations, corrective actions are taken immediately. Labor rate analysis reports are alsoprepared on a monthly basis in order to run projects more efficiently and to make full use of the resources.
